GLM-5.3 promo pricing on AI Gateway ends Sep 8
- Announced
- 2 Sept 2026
- Effective
- passed 8 Sept 2026
- Source
- the vendor’s own page · last checked 4 Oct 2026
What breaks
The promo-named model stops serving requests once the offer window closes.
- Calls using zai/glm-5.3-promo-50 stop working after September 8
- These calls route only to DigitalOcean with no fallback, so a DigitalOcean outage during the window fails the request outright
What to do
Treat the promo name as temporary rather than something to hardcode.
- Switch calls to the standard name zai/glm-5.3 before or when the promo ends
- Add providerOptions.gateway with order: ['digitalocean'] to keep preferring DigitalOcean while allowing fallback to other providers at standard rates
